Booth Rules
The purpose of Fountain City Town Hall, Inc. (FCTH) is to provide a forum for the discussion and resolution of matters concerning Fountain City and to promote the betterment of its citizens and their surroundings.
Consistent with that purpose, FCTH hosts a Memorial Day celebration entitled “Honor Fountain City Day in the Park” (HFCD) located at Fountain City Park. The goal of this event is to bring the community together for a traditional, family-friendly, affordable, patriotic celebration. Please be advised that this event will be held come rain or shine! To achieve that goal and to protect Fountain City Park, we have established rules which all booth participants must follow:
- APPLICATION: A completed and signed application addressed to Fountain City Town Hall, Inc. / P.O. Box 18392 / Knoxville, TN 37928 must be received no later than April 28, 2025.
- FEE FOR BOOTHS:
Fees are nonrefundable, regardless of weather or other conditions.- Crafters, artists, vendors, and community organizations: $40.00.
- Candidates for public office and elected officials: $70.00.
- SET-UP TIME: Set-up should begin no earlier than 9:00 am and should be completed when the events begin at 10:00 am. Festivities end at 4:00 pm and all displays and equipment should be removed by 5:00 pm.
- CHECK-IN: When you arrive at the park, check-in at the Gazebo with a FCTH member. The FCTH member will direct you to an assigned location in the park to be used throughout the duration of the event.
- VEHICLE ACCESS AND PARKING: You may drive into the park to temporarily unload/load your display and equipment. After completing this task, you must move the vehicle to a location outside the park. All vehicles must be driven on the grass. Driving is not allowed on the asphalt walking trail.
- EQUIPMENT: You must supply your own tables, chairs, tents, and other equipment necessary for your booth. There are no power outlets available for vendors. All covered pavilions are reserved for FCTH designated activities. The tables under the covered pavilions are not to be removed.
- COMMUNITY GROUPS: Civic groups including schools, garden clubs, neighborhood organizations, etc. are welcome to rent booths. Providing children with activities such as face painting is encouraged.
- CANDIDATES FOR PUBLIC OFFICE AND ELECTED OFFICIALS: We welcome the opportunity for Fountain City residents to meet and talk with candidates and elected officials. All distribution of literature, buttons and other campaign items must take place only at the booth. Please do not walk around the park distributing campaign materials.
- BALLOT INITIATIVES: We do not rent booths to individuals or groups
supporting or opposing local, state, or federal ballot proposals or initiatives. - PETITIONS: Petition drives securing signatures are not allowed.
The exhibitor agrees to hold harmless FCTH and its members for any damages to his/her property; for damages or loss to the property of others; and for loss or injury to any person caused by his/her negligence. The exhibitor will cooperate fully with the terms presented herein and the laws of the City of Knoxville. Failure to do so will result in a member of the FCTH directing the participants to strike their booth and leave the premises.
There is a limited number of spaces in the park available for booth rentals. As a result, applicants will be approved to participate on a “first-come/first-serve” basis. FCTH reserves the right to reject any applicant that is not consistent with the spirit and goals of this event as described herein. All applicants are subject to review and acceptance is at the sole discretion of the Board of FCTH. Applicants will be notified in writing and by email if the application is rejected and all fees will be refunded within 15 days of that ruling.
